I've still got a scar through my upper lip from when one of mine had an awkward landing on my face at 3am from the curtain rail over our bed...

Yikes, I hope we don't get too injured! So far they both sleep all night, until we get up. Neither seems to be a night player...I guess we'll see if that changes once they are together!

No not really. Today was the first time he let me pick him up for a snuggle. He is a real squirmy guy, doesn't really fight me if I have to pick him up, but doesn't like it. We've gently touched his paws but he does the immediate swatting/playing. I'm sure we COULD do it, as we do with Zyon, with 3 of us and lots of protests, but because RP is so finicky and has so many new things here, we wanted to wait a bit before traumatizing him with that.

I like those.. I don't know why my cats are so weird. We'll just keep all the different types around I guess and wait to see... maybe once RP has the run of the house too they'll start using them to mark their zones.

Wow those are amazing! We're in the process of making some cool cat superhighway stuff on our walls. The one below is our first area, our bedroom, and the corner will have a cat tree I'm going to make with a real tree or driftwood, as well as a cat hammock =)

I made a cat hammock, it took me a month. I didn't work on it everyday but most evenings while watching TV. I used a 100 year old limb from an oak tree that the city gave me when cutting back a huge oak tree. Being in the right place at the right time does have its perks. The hammock part is made and woven from clothes that either we didn't want or donated by friends. Sad to say it's has not been placed on the wall yet. For her to use because the plan of her walk about safari jungle is still in the planning stage. Emma enjoyed and naturally helped me while I was making it. So I know she'll love it once it is hung up properly. I'm blessed she is patient, as I tend to actively be working on many projects at the same time. I did not have a pattern just made it up as I went. I'll post some photos.its a lot of fun and my favorite hobby making things for my furbaby.
Yours looks awesome!

The red tape shows were the branch will be attached to the wall. Since installing isn't going to take place soon, I hung it from the drip pole for effect and display.

I love it! We're in the process of building a bunch of other stuff, including a cat tree using drift wood from our favorite camping place on the coast (of N. California) and a more elaborate cat "super highway" in our living room... though everyone is back to school/work on Tuesday so I'm sure it'll take us months now to get it done =)

"Super Highway" sounds fabulous! Seems like it always takes more time than we'd like. Doing it correct , safe and user friendly takes time. Will enjoy seeing your creations as they develop. We have a walk about for Emma starting from our kitchen ( where she has a set of custom stairs) going across our living room to the front door. It was a design of mine installed by my son Josh before Emma arrived. After doing that one, I know now what I would do differently. Health situations arose for myself & husband ( all is fine now) which took a year to recoop from. So my jungle walk about ( which is where the hammock will be placed) that I will be (installing in my art studio) painting creating is a year behind schedule. However, during that time drawings and ideas are always swirling in my head! It's the best therapy/ hobby I could ever devote my time to. Saw a saying" if I'd get paid for every time my cat made me smile I'd be a billionaire!
favorite beaches not far from us, Carmel and big sur.
