Panting

I'm a fan of erring on the paranoid side of pet ownership. If one kitten is doing this and the other one doesn't with equivalent amounts of exercise, then it is worth checking out with your vet. Paws crossed it is nothing!

They are half brothers. Same dad. Ezzy is a year and Ari(the panter) is 5 months.
Hmmm....Rafiki used to pant like crazy when she played as a kitten but it is now difficult to get her to the worn out and panting stage now that she is 19 months old. As they are not the same age, it would alleviate my concern a bit but I would probably get him checked out anyway.

Same with Kilifi. When she first came home at 10 months she panted a lot. Now at 18 months, not so much.
Azidi, 3 yrs, has only panted once. During a lot of play after a Kilifi confrontation.
But as Rafiki said, I would have him checked for peace of mind.

I'll probably have Ari checked out anyway just so I can have piece of mind. Ari's brother Ezzy panted more when he was younger but not to the extent of Ari, maybe because he didn't have Ari to run around with and wrestle. I think I would be more concerned if Ari was just sitting there panting for no reason etc. and acting lethargic or not eating or playing

Took Ari to the vet today. She did a full check up on him. Everything checked out fine. His lungs were clear and his heart sounded fine and she listened for quite a long time. She said his panting could get less as he gets older but couldn't say for sure because it could very well be the African Serval in him. She says if Ari starts breathing different or hard etc. or if his panting increases to bring him back in and we'll go from there but she didn't seemed concerned.

I'm glad to hear that everything checked out!!
Why did she think the panting had something to do with the serval in him?
