One of the reasons I make the effort to go to cat shows is to show people our breed and dispel those myths. It's so common for people to come with questions based on the misinformation on the internet... I am sure Cinny and Ixas (and you) were fabulous ambassadors of our breed :)

I hope we were, B...people seemed to love them both and Cinny just wanted to be out of her Sturdi to be held and cuddled and petted...Ixas and Cinny played and played and groomed each other, entertaining everyone ;) People were happy and excited to see them...the little kids loved them as well...Ixas is a big boy, but very gentle and both he and Cinny love to be petted, so we had no issues.

What kind of 'bad information' were you given about Savannahs? Where do you work that they would have experience with Savannahs?

I was told that they're wild cats (not true...Ixas and Cinny were better behaved than my domestic short hair,), that they require a special diet and special vet care and that they are too much for one person and that they need to be walked outside. The people at my job have no experience with Savannahs except what they have heard. So today when I went in, (I had yesterday off), all's I kept talking about was the Savannahs and how different they were than what I was told they'd be. I've been talking about the Savannah ever since Sat, I alerted my brother to the fact that I am getting one and the people in my vets office are looking forward to meeting a Savannah.

Cinny was so sweet and loving and Ixas was so cute too. They made good ambassadors for the breed.

Oh I've been bitten by the bug...the apt is being surveyed for areas to put cat trees, I am looking into what will work to cover my electrical cords and I'm also starting to think of names. And bonus time and income tax time are coming up very shortly. The deal with my co workers is this...Paige was kind enough to let me take pictures of Cinny and Ixas so when I went into work on Tues, I had them in my hand and I asked people who had negative things to say about the Savannahs if they could guess what breed of cat they were. And I told them what great cats they are and how smart they are. So now, they're anticipating every day I walk in that I will have an announcement about my new cat.
