So we are halfway there, and things are getting real. The excitement has cut me down to 5-6 hours of sleep per night, but that is okay.
On Thursday Zuko gave us a little scare as he was breathing heavily, but Trish rushed him to the vet right away and both his lungs and heart sounded fine. She proceeded with an X-ray since she was already there, and the results showed that his heart was a little compressed. The verdict was for him to grow, grow, grow, and Trish implemented splints on his front legs to help reshape his rib cage. The idea of surgery came to the table, but we decided to wait out 2 more weeks to see progress, and in one day he was lifting himself off the ground, and moving much better than before.
Trish has been spoiling me with updates, at least 5 photos or videos a day I am sure, and I am obsessed! I have already started the shopping to spoil process..
Zuko is registered with TICA, CITES is complete, sales invoice is ready, so all Trish needs to worry about is the health certification and export permit. On Tuesday I have an appointment with Flight Centre to figure out how my trip will work. It will be through 3 time zones, and having to arrive at the designated port between business hours. Once we decide on the best port, I will be calling them to schedule that appointment as well, and then hopefully we can send through the paperwork ahead of time to make sure everything runs smoothly the day of.
Until then more shopping to do (ALL THE TOYS), and rewatching his videos for the 30th time.
I am so lucky - Zuko has stolen my heart. Even Trish's son knows how special he is, as he is angling to keep him.

6 and a half more weeks.. It'll pass quicker than the first half right?
