DNA test like blood is what I read. My vet did blood with a needle to the neck.. I know most vets cut the nail a little too short for a result.

So there is blood in the egg shell? I feel like taking a sample from the egg shell is much less traumatizing than a jab in the neck

8 quail and 16 chicks take 1 hour prep time and last 3 days for Zuko. XD

Ugh!

Note to self: Stop complaining about how long it takes to chunk Jammu's food because at least I don't have feathers to deal with!

Emily, do you grind it or feed whole prey?

We get the whole prey frozen, and dethaw it enough to prep, then we freeze again and take out portions to feed every few days.

We cut off the legs and wings, defeather, cut off the head, remove some of the guts and chop up the rest. All done with our hands and scissors.

We don't want our cats confusing feathered friends as food as Jinora is his sister. :p

Another reason I'm thankful for my itty bitty kitties. I'm curious to see how long 20 chicks and 10 quail last them.
