Quality Cat Food in UK

I came across a post somewhere in the UK, responding to someone asking about cat food in the UK...

So for all you UK owners, please let us know what you feed and where you get it...here are some links I thought helpful:

For canned meat, you can use a high quality food, such as this: http://petfoodwarehouse.co.uk/browse_1538
or this: http://petfoodwarehouse.co.uk/browse_880

The following are also supposed to be very good and you can either buy online or from a good pet store:

I use the zooplus.

We have them also in belguim.

They have many good brands between them.

I tried most of their wet foods.
There are really plenty of good ones between.
I only try those with +60% meat.

Right now i give porta 21 Pure chicken, that is the only one that all my 4 cats eat.
The other tasts of porta 21 has less meat.

This one 65% chicken 35%broth

I have an entire list of what cat likes what food of zooplus, but it's a little bit to much to put everything here.

Hi we use http://www.royalcanin.co.uk/products/products/cat-products/feline-health-nutrition/kitten for dry kibble recommended by both our breeder and the lady at the cattery ... It contained taurine which is apparently good for their digestion.
Also have fed them http://www.applaws.co.uk/our_products.php as wet food but we have found a supplier of good quality fresh chicken which works out cheaper so they tend not to have so much canned/pouched wet food now.

Re: Royal Canin, reading this stuff makes me doubt this company (if I didn't already):

Re: Applaws, I believe their canned food isn't a "complete" food, ie. their "tinned" chicken breast is just that, and therefore you could run into a problem with missing vitamins/minerals from breast only, ie. Taurine which comes from dark meat.

Just an FYI...maybe you already know this stuff and are taking care, but if not, hope it helps.

Hi Dantes thanks for the info ... scary stuff no I didn't know this already

In an ideal world I would go down the raw diet route but they turn they don't seem to like raw chicken, maybe someone could help me source the nessecary additives in the uk to add to cooked breast meat to make it a complete meal for them ....
However they do like their kibbles, but I imagine just like human food once you are looking at something that has been heavily processed you are always going to find some nasties in there ....
