We have our boy Zyon now (for a week!) and he's doing great in his quarantine. I was just reading Witchy Woman's helpful handout on introducing a new cat to a resident cat. One of the last steps was to take the resident cat into the quarantined room in a crate then let her out so they could finally interact freely. Sadly that's completely impossible for us- our 10 yo DSH cat will never in a million years get into a crate. If we have to take her somewhere or when we've moved it's insane trying to get her into a box or anything else. She's an outdoor cat mainly though she stays in a lot more now and we just didn't crate her when she was little- so this would be highly traumatizing for her and I feel spoil the point of introducing the two by freaking her out. What is my alternative here? I don't want either of them to get upset with the other so I'm trying to do what is suggested by you guys. ? any ideas? never had to introduce 2 cats before so I'm trying to do it "right" to avoid problems!!
Thanks,
Karen
