Rate of Growth

I'm having trouble creating a forum but I had a couple questions about my F4 savannah. He cries all night and all day, everyday no matter what. He only stops when he's on my lap getting loved on but otherwise he's whining and meowing like no other. He hasn't been fixed yet and he has a condition with his testicles, of of them will never drop and it could cause cancer, I wasn't sure if that had anything to do with it. He also doesn't have any other cats to play with and was thinking maybe he was just lonely? Not sure what to do about this or how to get him to stop, but any advice would be greatly apprecaited!

Re: your new kitten, how old is he? How long have you had him for? Does he have a doggie friend or another human in his household, or is it just the two of you? There could be a lot of reasons why he is crying, if you can give a bit more information, I'm sure people here will chime in to try and help. Also you didn't mention how often he is fed. It is possible he is hungry. All three of my boys give me a hard time when they are hungry and when they want to play and when they are bored. Hope this helps Lauren, and welcome to the forum.

He's 8 months old and my boyfriends lives with us as well as 3 other people. We have a few other cats but only 1 of them is really around him more than the other. We feed him soft food twice a day and there's hard food out at all times. We don't have any other animals he can play either although I'm in the middle of buying a German sheperd puppy right now that is 8 weeks old.

OK. I would definitely say it is time to arrange for him to be neutered. Neutering when a testicle hasn't dropped is a more complicated procedure, but absolutely necessary from my understanding.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was a bit quieter after that, although it is always possible you've got a talker, I've got one of those

At 8 months old he is beyond due for neutering, so I would start there. If his testicle hadn't dropped yet it's not going to.

Also what kind of hard/soft food and how much? As a kitten, especially a SV kitten he needs lots of protein to actually feel and stay full.

We give him fancy feast and pure balance. Normally he has fancy feast twice a day but sometimes we replace one of them for the pure balance. And then in between he eats blue wilderness hard food and purina indoor hard food. We have been working on trying to get him fixed, we'll have it done here in a couple weeks and hope that things get a little better! Thanks for the advice!
Also, I was wondering if him sleeping like this is unusual or not good for his neck or if he's ook and just sleeping funky

He was also born in February and my boyfriend has had him sense April.

Definitely get your boy neutered. Having impacted balls will cost more, but getting him altered will curb many unwanted tendencies, and eliminate that being a problem.

Sounds like your boy is demanding more attention. Would give him as much love as possible. Does he sleep with you??? All my fur kids have their own unique demands and quirks. Sometimes I have to go and find each and every one, just to let them know I love them, before they will come to bed.

We do try to love on him as much as possible but he always goes away he never goes far, normally just hops down off our laps and lays about a foot or so in front of us under the table. Same with the bed, he doesn't go farther than a couple inches away, but never cuddles. He used to sleep on our pillows by our head, but he doesn't do that as often as he used to.

Has he always been so vocal or has it gotten worse recently? I suspect he needs to be neutered asap. Alternatively, he may just be completely spoiled and expects his servant to love on him 24/7 I doubt it has anything to do with the undescended testicle.

Neutering will definitely alleviate many concerns. Cuddle Zones are always in a state of flux. Spot needs to be in the crook of my arm, the Twins like it between the legs, Sam, well he is allocated the bottom corner of the bed, while Isis claims the pillow at our heads.

Though I must say, often I have to assure one, or the other, or two, that I truly love them, before we all settle down fur the night. I always try to get all five inside the main bedroom fur the night. Have fewer rebellious markings when everyone sleeps together.

As long as you are all together, I wouldn't be concerned, and know it will all work out in the long term. Seeing that he is always near by is a sure sign of human bonding.. Just let it happen... It all sounds like good as gold to me.
