Loki (F4A) is 20 weeks tomorrow...I need to measure and weigh him ...I dont think he is close to the size of your cats...I want a big guy...hope he picks up the pace...last time he was weighed at the Vet when he got fixed, he was 5.5 lbs, at 16 weeks....how much do you feed your guys....I feed 3-4 times a day...and he always has dry dry food out...he gets raw chicken, hearts, livers...with a little wildtrax supplemient mixed in the ground.
Rob, Loki may never be a big cat and feeding him 3-4 times a day is not going to make him bigger 
Weight is usually not a factor for us, since savannah cats tend to be long and lean...
Ixas is an F5 SBT and 8 pounds at 5 months, but all my male kittens are a pretty good size. However, that means nothing to me. He is a sweet, well-socailized, healthy boy and that is all that matters...

Hi Paige, Thanks....I love Loki...He is lean and long, and he is wonderful and a joy to the entire family...I wouldnt change a thing...I was just sharing what I wanted ..If he doesnt get big that would be fine with me, ...he will be just the way he is suppposed...I wanted to make sure there was nothing I needed to do differently to help him along...Thanks for the advise.

That's good to hear, Rob! Seems that you are doing everything right...as long as you add the correct amount of Wildtrax, you should be good.
Cinny and Ixas will not eat their food with Wikdtrax...as a matter-of-fact, as soon as I add anything like Wildtrax, Kitty Bloom, etc., they will not eat their raw, so I am going to have to find another way. That being said, they do eat some canned, so I can make sure they are getting the proper nutrients.

Yea...the wildtrax has to be mixed well or he will not eat it either...he is picky when it comes to food and treats...I have tried 2 diff. treats, fish, samon, ...wont touch it.....but he loved some cooked samon I was having for dinner and he loves carbs...gave himm a little bit of cracker, and some masa from a tamale...loves it....I try not to give him any human food...dont want to mess his stomach up..

I think you are correct....I think the best trait Savannahs have is their personality....They are just woanderful and smart...so social and fun to watch....That being said, being a guy....We always care about size...

As Paige says, he just may not be a big cat... you can't know. If size is a necessity then an earlier generation and/or more SV to SV crosses in the pedigree may be the key. I have most definitely noticed in my kittens born since I started breeding in 2003 that as I was breeding more generations of SV to SV the kittens have been increasing in size. I don't select for size, but overall type...but still the F5 SBT boys I have produced are large while the F3B boys that were littermates of the F5 SBTs great grandma were substantially smaller and lighter. Remember when you get an A-registered cat it is the product of two breeds, so will be highly affected by the outcross breed and not just the Savannah heritage.
But you are correct, a good quality diet is going to potentiate growth, so feeding the best you can is a good idea. I don't know that the amount of meals or the amount he eats each time will affect it, but feeding as much as he wants will allow him to reach the size he can reach
As to supplements, it is the reason I use the Mazuri supplements as they are the only ones I can add and the cats will still eat the meat. I can sprinkle it on a drumstick and they will still pick it up and eat it. I tried a number before then and they could tell when it was added and turned their noses up at it!

His Bengal Father was huge...his Savannah mother was small...so who knows...tiem will tell...He is 6.2 lbs and 20 weeks...he looks good, so that is all that matters...think he is getting longer than bulking up right now...He is just great thow...My wife can pick him up when ever she wants and pretty much treat him like a rag doll and he just takes it and loves it....does not shy away from anyone...very friendly...he was playing with her friends poodle the other day..they were chasing each other...never hissed or anything..Here are pics of the parents...

Yes, you may be right, he might add bulk and weigh more, although that won't give you the height that we tend to want in the Savannah, it really is a personal preference on whether you prefer the Bengal more sturdy build or the svelte elegance of a Savannah
