Nah, the biggest kitties in my household are definitely at the bottom of the pecking order. Nina is a very large F1 and she's bullied by my petite F4C girl (who weirdly has birthed some very large sons). Debby (Trouble's mommy) had seen one of my larger kittens as an adult and thinks he might be taller than Trouble... that kitty is a complete baby of a cat to the toddlers and petite F6 female he lives with.

Sometimes I think that they do know how large they are and how scary that can be to other cats, but most the time I think they are more like gentle giants with no concept of size. I sent off Babbage at a year old and 18lbs of lean legginess and he was a complete coward when it came to the other kitty residents. So I think "trouble" can come in kitties of all sizes, it's an individual thing just like the lottery of size can be

Well, I'm not claiming anything about Nitro's current behavior - in my opinion, he's a pretty mellow kitty, except when it comes to treats. And much like you, Nitro is bullied by the smallest cat in my apartment - my 10.75 lb Bengal female.

In our household, BC (before Chongo), size mattered, but speed kills. With 3 cats there was a circular scheme of dominance. The Alpha Cat was often the victim of the smallest cat with her superior speed, but she would fall victim to the biggest boy based on sheer size. However his size was no contest for the middle cat that kind of had the whole package, speed, a little bulk and a lot of athleticism. It was always a guessing game figuring how they were paired up for their chases until you heard their verbal response to getting some wood laid on them.

I tried to make it as easy as possible to use . It will even let you "use measurements since..." if you want to know only what his last month's growth looks like.

Which cattery did Nitro come from? He is huge!

Darth, it doesn't matter what cattery. I have smaller than average and monster (my son's cat) from the same place. I have full brothers from different litters and there is a significant difference in size between the two. It's a roll of the dice.

We had two male domestic cats from the same litter, one who grew up to be a 10 pounder and the other 15. As kittens their eating habits were totally different, and the one who seemed to care the most about eating grew to be the largest and the one who just wanted to non-stop play. As adults the large one was more lethargic than the other although certainly not fat, lumbering, powerful but not athletic. The lighter one was tremendously athletic, lightening quick and incredibly playful.

Not at all saying that I wouldn't opt for a large cat but just the knowledge that the size of the box doesn't reveal the contents.

It seems like Loki hits peaks and lulls in growth rates. I weigh him about every other day. Sometimes he stays the same weight for 3-5 days, and then I see a .4-.6 gain. He will be 20 weeks old on Friday, and he was 9.2 lbs yesterday. He eats a full meal, and then goes looking for more food the others have left behind, my little piggie!

As Brigitte said, my big guy, Razi (35 pounds), is the mellowest of my cats, and is scared to death of Chuju, who tops out at 15 pounds.
