I also agree with the others, there are many red flags to what you have said about this breeder, however there are many Savannah breeders on the East Coast, I'm sure you will be able to find what you are looking for.

Having said that, aside from an F1 and some F2s, most Savannahs are simply the size of a normal to large domestic cat, and someone who guarantees size to you is also waving a red flag. If you are looking for a large cat you should be looking at male F1s, or at an alternative breed (e.g., Maine Coons are huge).

Agreed with Patti that even going earlier in generation does not guarantee size. I have one 11lb F1 and another that is now 24lbs. But had an F5 boy that was 20lbs at a year old. Size is much easier to expect in a more developed breed such as the Maine Coon.

After seeing the kitten and its parents I believe we may need to adopt an earlier generation to get the size we desire
What generation were you looking for? Many females aren't as big as the males so you can't always go by moms size. And physical size can never be guaranteed. Just a LARGE purrsonality!!

My wife and I have run across veterinarians who were not fond of the wild cross breed cats (bengals, savannahs). This included the vet office she worked at part time during her short retirement ( she consults now full time!). But each time a veterinarian took the patience to examine any of the three savannahs in this house, each and every one of them altered their opinion. The off ice she worked at, is our current vet, and they are always excited when these SVs come in. They whole office wants to visit as our cats are well behaved and they don't get to see many of these spotted kitties.
Others have pointed out problem cats come in all sizes shapes and breeds. I really think some people think "active" cats equates to "problem" cats. Not so.
As you read these forum threads, bear in mind, should a person have a challenge with a cat, this is where they would come and ask for advice and knowledge from the servants and breeders. So I can assure you, the rate of challenges appears far, far higher than the true rate for this reason. The overwhelming majority of servants never have found this forum. The members of this online community represent a very small percentage of savannah households. That said, there is an amazing amount of experience and knowledge to tap with our active members.
My cats all came from a breeder who welcomed us to visit the cattery, before the purchase. And I was fortunate to live near enough to pick them up in person.

Thank you! I believe we have found a wonderful breeder and perhaps a kitten who will adopt us. I am thankful for all the good advice and that I held back before. It is looking like we have found the perfect match!

Congrats!! Can't wait to see pics. If it doesn't work out I have an F3 male kitten that is currently available. And I'm on the east coast.

I just sent a request to the breeder to adopt an F2 male kitten. He's won my heart. Cross your paws!
