Hi ok new here very sorry if I'm in the wrong place recently I seen a Savannah on Craigslist for free she is a fFe she is also 4 years old she is ok with grown ups and dogs but they told me she has never been around children I have a 8 month old 3 year old and 6 my older ones understand there good kids and understand no yelling in the house but babysit cry once in awhile should I take the chance I don't want to see her winding up in the wrong home .

My gut reaction is that that is a lot of kids for a cat to deal with.
Have you been around F2 cats? F1 and F2 cats are not easy to rehome. They often bond very closely to their human making rehoming them difficult. Or they are "more" than the average cat - more stubborn, more willful, more adverse to change, etc. If the cat was ever mistreated, she is "more" likely to remember it and not trust. Do you know why this person is giving up this cat?

no I asked why there rehoming they didn't answer they told me she loves feather toys which I knew and loves water they were working on leash training but they haven't finished,the pictures they sent me she wasn't scared at all they did say she doesn't like strangers which we have a four bedroom home and she will have her own space and there giving me her cat tree
I would be concerned with introducing any adult cat to young children (not just Savannahs), especially the 8 month old, however if you are able to keep the cat separated from the children then it could be doable. I would definitely find out why they're rehoming her though - if it's something like a litterbox issue or some other behavioral problem you may not want to tackle that...
Ok thankyou, They moved out of a big house into a city one bedroom apartment. We do have a 4 bedroom home she will have her own room and this is a old farm house so there is lots of *kitten holes, however they are sending her catbox, carrier with her heating pad ,toys ,exc.

This isn't a good rehome situation for any cat, let alone an f2 that seemingly already has some special needs. Also make quick study of what you can't have around as you're going to have some disappointed children when their belongings start getting destroyed. How are you going to manage things if this cat suddenly becomes a door darter? I'm really hoping for the cats sake you think better of this.

What happened to the f1, and how did he/she do with the children?
Do you have other pets as well?
Do you know where this F2 originally came from? That will probably go a long way for people to provide some assistance as there will be a better idea of how the original breeder socializes their kittens.

Our baby passed away 5 years ago the children new to give her her space she wasn't a lap cat only when she wanted to be,we have a rotty lab cross that's 16 also a German European cross Rottweiler, both good with cats. The breeder of the cats had children but she sold the kitten's when they were young I know Savannah's are very smart but would she remember that far back?

The difference between a well socialized Savannah kitten during the first 3 months and one that isn't is huge. There have been enough cats and kittens run through here as well as Savannah Cat Rescue, people have a pretty good handle on what catteries give kittens better life chances and a more solid base for adapting.
No matter where this cat is from, your situation isn't ideal for a rehome, especially given the cats current personality traits. Perhaps Brigitte will chime in, as more than anyone she will have the best idea of what has and hasn't been successful in the past.
