I tried to give him pill pockets before - he is not a fan of them - so I tried sticking them to other treats and did get him to take his nausea meds - that was for only 4 days - and the last day I almost never got him to eat it - I am attaching the meds they want us to give him for his heart -

How severe is the HCM? Do you have a copy of the echo report?

Just be aware that Cardizem CD can not be crushed, so if crushing or compounding is required you can't use the CD form.

Try switching around the foods you use to hide the pills in - different types of cheese, chunks of chicken, beef, pork, hot dogs, or liver, canned cat food (most cats love Fancy Feast, which I keep a variety of flavors on hand only for when I need to medicate someone), etc.

My cats are fiends for the freeze dried duck tenders. Unlike the chicken tenders (AKA kitty crack), the duck ones are nice and dense and not crumbly. For the smaller pills, I was able to cut a slot into a tender and get her to eat the pill that way.

The only results I have from the echo are on the same page as the medications I posted - it is at the top- I know they said it was mild hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. All of these are great ideas for hiding pills but I am stressing about it already and we haven't even started anything yet-
I had been using the fancy feast to get him to eat when he decided he no longer wanted science diet, blue buffalo, life abundance, royal canine - I have tried so many and have all of this cat food he will NOT eat. I can't seem to wing him off fancy feast now - he just won't eat anything else - and since it was better than nothing I always cave and give in just so he will eat. I have tried mixing it into the other - Is fancy feast really bad? Our vet said to give him whatever he will eat since he had lost 3lbs but I will keep trying to wing him off and back onto science diet.
I called them today because they said they think his twitchiness is Hyperviscosity syndrome -
but I think you all have it right with Hyperesthesia Syndrome - I will try to post a video I took of him last night having a mild twitch so you can see - I also sent the video to the Cardio and Oncologist for review and asked them to PLEASE help me find something to help with this as other than this currently he is doing well.
I can't figure out how to attach the video

If all he will eat is fancy feast, then nothing wrong in continuing...

Agreed, Fancy Feast is certainly no worse than Science Diet, and if he's eating it that's all that really matters right now.

Agreed!! And if you get the "classic" style of Fancy Feast at least it doesn't have grain in it.

Yes, Sheryl has been around much longer than I have. She breeds Savannahs, Bengals, Chausies, and Safaris. She is one of the directors of the Chausie rescue and co-administrates the Adult Hybrid Cats Available FB page with me. She is definitely a highly experienced, well founded, ethical breeder.
