Savannah Cat with Allergies

I wonder how Zeus is doing now? We are feeding our cats raw only, they don't even consider dry food something eatable. They love chicken necks and cornish hens. At some point we were getting pretty worried about Master, who started itching and scratching after about 2 month of having him. We did multiple tests, antibiotics, more tests, allergy medicines...he would scratch so bad he'd bleed. Every vet blamed raw chicken diet, or bacteria related to it. A year later and hundreds of $$ spent on vets, we have finally figured it out by accident: he was allergic to petroleum products. Anything scented (laundry sheets, soap, perfumes etc) would make him itch like crazy. Go figure...

Doesn't surprise me, but then I am allergic to all sorts of scents and scented products. One of my cats might be allergic but as those things don't enter my house I'd never know, LOL!

I'm glad you figured it out and it was an easy enough "fix" :)

It turns out it is not yeast or fungal. They tested him for Pancreatitis but not that either. He seems to eat every 2 or 3 days. I have tried evry tyupe of soft nutritional thing I can think of but he still only wants his kibbles.I really think now it seems more gastric than anything. Taking hiom ti Docs today! Thanks for sall your posts!!! Great advice and your thoughts. I will keep you posted!
