Savannah F3, F4 or later

Haha.....so you knew....you just knew that she would be a brat! How could you not with that little mug?! :in love:

I realized (too late) that if I didn't want an obnoxious cat, I shouldn't come up with an obnoxious name! I've learned from this though, and have angel names picked out for the future (no not fallen angels either)

I think maybe when you see them in person you may change your mind.

You might be right. That's why I have that appointment on Saturday. And there is still an option with another breeder for a F3 kitten.

In the end it's also a numbers game. I have a personal limit I set myself. I could go higher but I don't want (for now. But that budget already dramatically increased during the last couple of days ;) So in the end it might not be the number I set up initially).

Right now I'm waiting for the first pictures of the F3s. Hopefully they show up prior Saturday. It's always good to have a plan B and don't have to leave 'without anything'.

If the breeder with the F3s has one cat that I like I'll just take it, no matter what... One of the kittens I saw. Light and brown. Not what I'm looking for. Hope the other two are more impressive.

Patience is definitely not my strength. That's why I hope for something cute in my hands soon.

I don't think most F5s look like ordinary cats... I breed F5 SBTs and just don't see what you are referring to... I have seen F7s that look better than F3s...so it just depends on the breeder... Start out with great parents and you usually get great kittens

:) Maybe we just have the wrong breeders here in Germany. What I'm usually seeing here are F1-F3 with beautiful slim bodies. Very elegant. Usually true for F4 as well. Most of the F5 I'm seeing here don't have this elegant, slim shape anymore. Maybe I should check out your page to see how beautiful F5s can look like. :)

Can you maybe show me what a beautiful F5 can look like. I'm sure you have more access to this resources than I have right now.
Just out of curiosity.

Finding the perfect savannah is a waiting game. If you rush the process just to get a kitten in your hands, you may end up disappointed with the cat if it turns out not to have the physical features you desire. And have you done research on the personality of the savannah? If you lack patience now, you'll surely have to learn it when living with one of these cats because it will test the limits of everything. They are intelligent, inquisitive, persistent and patience and a healthy sense of humor are necessary to cohabit with one.

Whatever I was able to investigate, I investigated. But that's all by reading and videos. I haven't experienced a Savannah personality in reality. I guess it's a completely different story from what I imagine from reading and watching. I hope to get a sneak peek of this when I'm visiting the breeder this weekend.
Regarding patience: I'm not saying that I'm impatient overall. I just don't like to wait when I decided for something that I like and that I purchased.

But I agree with you. I'm not going to buy just to have something. Otherwise I'll definitely be disappointed. With all the cuteness I still keep my rationality. I already rejected a F4 before because it didn't feel right. That's how we got our Bengal. I am not disappointed that I rejected the Savannah. I had my reasons.

It's difficult to describe their behavior. You do have to experience it personally because it can be a bit difficult to believe that a cat can be so imaginative and energetic. I researched the breed for 3 yrs before buying my first and while I thought I was prepared, the reality was not what I imagined. And I usually like to prepare by expecting the worst and then I'm not taken off guard.

These are not bad cats by any means. They make life interesting. I have 4 savnnahs -- 2 F2s, 1 F6 and an F1. In just 15 minutes this morning from one cat -- one stolen hard boiled egg peeled and eaten in the 60 seconds I had my back turned; feather duster stolen and hidden in laundry basket; kitchen faucet turned on; laundry room faucet turned on; cup of coffee knocked over; computer desk contents scattered across the office; one roll of toilet paper shredded. And that was just one cat. LOL.

Of course not all SVs are mischievous. I actually prefer the lively spicy ones with a bit of naughty thrown in. As long as I take my vitamins every day, I can almost keep up with them:big grin:

Haha. I can imagine how you felt when they behaved like yo, after all this time, didn't imagine. :)

For me that sounds very entertaining. I'll show my wife your story and see how funny she thinks it is. :)

I can guarantee the entertainment wears a bit thin if you're the only one cleaning up the messes. I think you better put it in writing that you'll help clean up or you might find yourself in the proverbial dog house.
