I would just like to add a note about homeopathic remedies.
Homeopathy is very much an 'energetic' medicine. It runs on the theory that 'like heals like'. A specific herb is used (usually a toxic one) and is diluted so far down that it doesn't even exist in the end product, just its energy does. It is supposed to work similar to a vaccine in that you are introducing something to the body for it to recognize and fight off. It was originally created for very narrow symptomatic groups, which isn't really followed today. This is likely why it has a narrow success rate.
Bachs flower remedies are also energetic, so they don't always work either. I have heard that some people put it directly on the animal instead of in the water with some success. The flower used in Bach isn't as diluted as the herb in homeopathics.
There are safe herbs that can be used to help anxiety. I have heard that oatstraw, passionflower and lemon balm is a lovely combo for cats with anxiety. I dont have cats with anxiety, so I haven't tried it for myself though
Edit: I thought I would add that herbal medicine differs from the previously mentioned therapies as safer herbs are used at higher amounts. It isn't an energy medicine as you are using the chemical constituents found in the individual herbs for healing.
