I think it is so interesting how one thing will help one cat and something else another.

Glad to hear Cisco is off kibble Paige. Any luck with your other boy starting to slim down yet?

It is very interesting, NikkiA... I find cat behavior so fascinating! No, Ixas is still a fatty, unfortunately...i am going to start walking him as the weather gets warner and hope that helps...

This man traveled through the jungle visiting villages to treat whatever ailed them. He collected herbs and plants from the jungle to make his mixtures. Curious you mention this. On my journey through pharmacy school I had a professor who did what you described above. He gave a special lecture on this once a year. (It was called the Jungle Lecture.) It was the best lecture of my college experience.
This professor was the inspiration for the movie Medicine Man (played by Sean Connery.). He was featured on Nova for plant pharmaceuticals. An amazing educator whom I have not forgot for the valuable lessons he taught me about pharmacognosy.
Sadly he passed on about a year and a half ago, but I was lucky enough to visit him about a half year prior to his passing. He still had all his marbles. He left behind a legacy that will be hard to beat.
