I am really forum illiterate. Paige mentioned that there are pictures of the different generations and I cannot find that link anywhere??? Can someone be so kind as to show me the way?

You will get the hang of it :)

I never promise size on my kittens. I do tell my customers that the Savannahs' huge personality is what makes them unique and special.

Size is hard to guarantee, I agree with earlier posts that its much easier to not expect it to be too much larger than an average house cat, other than longer legs or height to them. It is nicer to be pleasantly suprised when your expectations are surpassed, rather than failed or not met.

When I was shopping for my SV Size was one of my priorities, but then when I saw Keljin and his bold remarkable best spots of the bunch, I didn't care that he was a runt and may end up small. I loved his personality and markings.

Personality should be a huge #1 for you especially with the dogs in the mix. You want to make sure that you have a sociable SV that can be introduced early and get along with your current pets. When I brought Keljin home he was so bold and fearless, he walked right up to my ferret and headbutted her on their first meeting :) He also gets along great with dogs. Early socialization is key, but definitely want to feel out early personality the best you can try to when looking.

Welcome Frank, I'm glad you were able to find this forum, it has lots of great info about Savannahs. When it comes to size, there is no guarantee unless you get an F1, and even then for the most part the females are smaller than the males. If you want a breed that consistently produces large cats well then the Maine Coon is the breed to look at. However, I think you can find an exotic looking later generation Savannah that won't break the budget, if you can compromise on the size.

As for the scams, well yes - unfortunately they are everywhere. However, you can find bona fide breeders on this forum under the Breeders Directory, on the Savannah Breed Section website at http://www.savannahbreedsection.org/breederdirectory.php or at SavannahCat.com There is also a great FAQ on the Savannah Breed Section website.
