I had a traveling cat once upon a time and she literally went everywhere with me. plane, car, bus.
Now that I have Jambi I am hoping to introduce him to the same luxury. So far so good.. I have a little litter box on the floor of my car and a cage set up for him to hide out, on our 3 hour ride to NY he had gotten sick and I had to pull over and wash him up in a rest stop sink.
Rule #1 do not feed the cat right before you leave. usually animals will figure out they are going on a trip and wouldnt eat even during, don't be alarmed
I set the hotel room up and brought all his favorite thing, bed, toys, scratcher. he was just fine and when he needed a time out ...I put him in the bathroom.
On our way back he had already noticed what we were up to, an used the liter box in the car before we got on the highway and spent the entire trip curled up asleep in my honeys arms.
I know plenty would disagree about taking your pet out of the carrier while in the car, Miss Cudi would sleep on my lap the whole drive country, and if she got bored she'd find a window to look out of. Of course extended trips I let her walk around and smell everything on her lead. She was a world traveler like her Mama.
Do not be afraid to expand your kitties adventure side. They are so very appreciative, and learn to read your cats emotions and signs.
Hope this helps
