Savannahs slowing down

At what age do savannahs tend to slow down a touch. I know they will always be busy, but in general do you see a bit of a slow down at a certain age and does it have to do with what generation they are?

Generally, they tend to stay more energetic than the average DSH. Three of mine are 7, 6, 5 yrs old and they usually sleep from around 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the rest of the time they are awake and figuring out how to take the house down to the studs until bedtime. LOL. I can't wait until the youngest reaches that point.

It may depend on generation, I don't find that my 10 year old F1 has calmed much. She did calm a little after her spay at 5 years of age, but not in the past 5 years! My next eldest is Baz and he's just always been a more calm cat. I think that you might see a slight calming after ~2 years of age, but most should remain active and cheeky fun cats for their lifespan.

I had an F2 boy that had serious health issues but at 12 years of age if I picked up a wand toy he was all attention. He was actually more active in later years than earlier ones, but that had to do with finding the right heart medication combination. As he was our first Savannah we had no idea that his active wasn't as active as it might be!

You made me laugh so hard lol. Unless they are kept busy, yes they look for trouble lol. Just wondered if they slow a bit, but then again thats what is so special about savannahs, their curiousity and energy!

Just wondered if they slow a bit,
They will slow down. My older boys are still playful and ready to go from deep sleep to playtime in a millisecond. When I got my first SV, I thought I wouldn't survive the first year. That cat was jet-propelled and I don't think his feet ever hit the floor until he was a year old. He literally flew around the house bouncing off walls to change direction. So I did an experiment and got 3 more to see if they were all the same.:roflmao:
