I did get a discount on our second kitten from SE, my credit card was still on file and the second kitten was adopted within 90 days of the first and Holly knew that the kitten was going to a good home due to the pic's and updates I sent her , our last kitten is a F2B from northern Michigan and I had to convince the breeder that the kitten would have a good home and would be well cared for before money was brought up and a deposit was sent, this breeder sent me regular videos and updates on the kitten and I sent her pic's of our 2 F3's Savannah's and how they lived here and that pleased her, I think that some breeders may cut you a deal if they know the kitten will be well cared for in a good home , but at the same time breeding these cats is expensive and takes a lot of time and work.

Hehe, when I spoke to Holly I described the three year journey with our F1 and his medical issues (pituitary tumor, diabetes, and 50 other things) and I think that it readily showed we were competent and caring (as well as experienced) SV parents. I offered to have his 187 page vet record sent over if she wanted a reference. ;-)

We actually talked to a couple of breeders before going with SE, and even after giving on that short version of our care for Nimar, I think no one was going to have concerns about us getting one of their kittens. lol

Sorry to hear of your cats health problems and I am glad that you keep up with it as it is part of the responsibility to the pet to see for it's health and well being , our Savannah's are outdoor cats so we make sure they see their Vet or a Vet tech at least once a month for a checkup and a dose of flea meds for the extra risk of a outdoor cats health, as I said,some breeders may cut you a deal if they know the kitten will be well cared for in a good home, but that is between you and the breeder, here is a pic. of Cody [from SE] with his Vet at the clinic after is vaccination shots, next was taken 9/1/17 Casey's Vet tech is playing with him after his last exam ,Cody is in the bamboo. Beautiful cats! I love that they get to be outside so much :)

As for Nimar's health issues, we would have done what we did for him for any pet, but he was so extra special that that not only did we go to the ends of the earth and back for him, but so did the vet staff at three different facilities. No one could believe how determined he was to just keep going (more than once we all thought it was "time" but he had so many miraculous rebounds that I am positive someone will be writing a case study about him at some point). He passed at the end of May, but we all managed to give him several more great years before the damage causes by the hormones from his tumor caught up to him. I still grieve for him daily. He was the most important thing in the world to me, and for three years his medication schedule (injections and oral meds many times a day) meant that he was always with us (vacations, etc). It was worth it though, and he gave us a love for this breed and that gave us Siada, who is our SE kitty. I just cannot live without a spotted terror, apparently ;-)

Sorry for your loss of Nimar, we all here dread the thought of a sick cat and I am glad to say that the people in this forum band up in support of members with injured or sick Savannah cats during their hard times coping with their pets condition, before I ever heard of the Savannah breed in 2012 we had high end cats , Siamese, Mau, Tonk, and we keep a rescue and time and old age took most of them except Cisco our Siamese and cancer took him, after his operation and his Vet told me it would by unfair to Cisco to operate again when their is no chance, it got him 6 weeks later at home, our 2 male Savannah's just love the outdoors and they are lucky that I have the room for them to run, hunt ,and play like cats in a safe environment but worm's,flea's,tick's, are a threat so every month the cat's get a check up to prevent problems associated with their life style, I enjoy going out on the deck in the morning with a hot drink and watching the boy's run at full speed chasing each other playing or sitting with them in the yard. Wow... So sorry... I know the feeling... They steal part of our hearts and take it when them... I know the feeling and I grieve every day for my previous pets... But I know someday, I will be back with them and we are going to have the greatest of a party! As hard as it is... Don't think of it as a Loss... Think of it as a Temporary separation.

I just emailed SE about another kitten. Not sure if this one is still available or not, but I am checking it out as a possibility. We are also talking about possibly an F2 or something else down the road. Because clearly you cannot have enough Savannahs!

I know, I sent a text a couple hours after the email (I am totally impatient). Alas, she must be delivering kittens because I have not yet heard back! lol!
