Shy Achilles ?

Achilles is a beautiful boy! I agree with the others, try to spend dedicated time playing only with him and feeding him treats from your hand. Try to do this about the same time every day so it becomes a routine for him. After getting him to play hard for awhile sit on the floor and get him to play with a wand toy on your lap, then feed him the treats when he is sitting on your lap. Try to find that 'special spot' that he loves getting scratched - for some cats it is under the chin, others behind the ear, still others in front of the ear.

Some cats seem head shy for some reason. If he acts as though he doesn't like his head touched - shies away when you try to scratch or pet him, try working from the back of the neck down. Find his comfort zone and work with that.

Welcome Tony.
Hang in there. I have a cat that does not like to have his head touched at first. Rub his side, then you can touch his head. He's funny that way.
Cats all have different personalities. We once took in a pound kitty. This cat loved everybody in the house but me. We suspected he was abused by an older male human. I took it in stride and waited him out. A year later I was his best friend for the rest of his life.
Many savannahs aren't lap cats. Rascal will not sit on your lap. He will sometimes lay down next to you.
Play with him. Feed him. He will soon be a pal. Just hang in there.

Thank you everyone! Ironically today he actually has been coming up to me and letting me touch him more than he has before (he must have read into the fact that i posted here :p ) during feeding time. I am patient just never knew what to expect with this type of cat. He is so cool and i can't wait to show him off.

Achilles looks like a big kitty! Can't wait to see more pics

He is an F4....but where i got him from said he will get bigger than most f4's. The cat in the picture is Inky, and he is 10 years and 17 lbs. He isn't very plump, he is a big cat, and im amazed buy a 4 month kitten can be as big as he is already....its insane!
