Hi all, was wondering if Savannah's go through a growth spurt at around 11 months of age, Vito will be 1 year old next month, (wow it's been a quick year) so for about the last week or so, he's been sleeping practically all day, eating and drinking as normal, and looking his usual healthy self, but heavens can he sleep.
He's always been a very high energy boy and never slept much during the day but lately he's napping late morning until early evening, just waking up to eat, toilet and play. When he is playing he is full of energy and quite hyper.
Could he be going through a growth spurt?

He could be transitioning from the kitten stage to adult and the hormones levels are starting to change with that.
Kittens are just a ball of energy wrapped in fur. Bella was 9 this last year in February and she is a F1. She will play
hard for about 20 minutes and they rest and be ready to go. Xander can really wind her up and they do a lot of
Tag Your it games. They really have gotten into that rug toy.

It's not unusual for a Savannah to go through a growth spurt around a year old. It could also just be that he is maturing and losing some of his kitty hyperness. In my experience Savannahs fo slow down with maturity but never as much as a typical cat.

Think you could be right Sean, he does play pretty hard when hes awake then rests for a wee while and then he's ready to go again, he's like a wind up toy :)
That's good their enjoying the mat, my lot love it, keeps Vito out of mischief for a while.

Hi Patti, thanks for your reply, he does seem to be looking a bit more leggy recently, we don't notice it as much as we're here with him all the time, but visitors are commenting on how much he's grown lately.

Even at 2 years old, after a hard play or run, they like to crash anywares they see fit..
