Type no, but personality IS important to us breeders...and especially if you show. Doesn't matter how gorgeous the cat is if it has a terrible personality!

Agree with Brigitte - type reflects the standard, not the serval (although in the case of the Savannah they are somewhat similar). Our standard addresses personality to a degree (affectionate and outgoing) but primarily reflects the physical characteristics of the Savannah.

So I have narrowed it down to the generation and look in a savannah that I have fallen in love with :) I mean ALL savannahs are gorgeous… But I have really fallen in love with the F3 cool bst's :in love: I also love the ones with black noses… So I was wondering if anyone has recommendations on breeders anywhere in the US? I am willing to fly and pick up my baby or if shipping is available and that is an option I would be willing to look into that as well.. So if anyone has any recommendations please let me know! :)
Josie at River Ridge savannahs has a cool toned bst girl who is simply gorgeous, I was going to buy her but I live in Canada and it would be too much travel and hassle for the poor thing. Her website is riverridgesavannahs.com, she's very nice :)

Thanks Ishani and everyone with all the suggestions and offers for help!! Especially Patti and Cynthia :)

I have broaden my horizons and am now open to both the gold and cool colors and even possibly a female… It will all just depend on the individual kitten and whoever grabs at my heart the most (in personality).

I have also realized that acquiring a kitten right now so late into my semester could spell disaster for me with schooling lol so I decided the best time for me will be mid/late summer/fall. I am taking 1 summer class and being a beer cart girl on a golf course a few days a week lol so I believe I will have much more time to dedicate to a baby during the summer/fall.

I am taking things slow… but have been talking with a breeder for a few weeks and have really clicked with them… Also many of you suggested finding someone who offers their kittens when they are a little older instead right at birth and they offer them once they are 4-5 weeks :) so I am feeling pretty comfortable and talked with many of their past adopters… They really seem great so I am really excited about getting a new baby to add to my little family :in love: The next litter will be born in April so that will put me at perfect timing if my baby is born then.. but from what I understand with Savannahs from you all, you just never know with litters. Either way I am in a good spot and feeling pretty great about it all! And again thank you all for your advice and suggestions it means a lot! heart
