This is the kitten you were given and not sure if he is Savannah or not? Much better pics but to me I don't see too many Savannah traits. His face is short and rounded and ears are small...his body type looks to be developing to be fairly sturdy also although the leg length isn't bad right now...and lovely dark contrast to his pattern. He's definitely a cutie and obviously very personable though :)

In terms of a name, what theme or meaning are you thinking? I like kitty names with stories behind them, how they got the name or what the names mean in another language etc.

He is pretty long and lean. Maybe you just can not see it in the pictures. I like names with meaning behind them as well. He was given to me for getting through a difficult time in life recently..

I've found some really cool names on African baby name sites... maybe there is one with the right meaning for your kitten? http://www.namesite.com/names/male is one of my favorites, I just scroll through for hours and the right one tends to just jump out at me. My Coco's name is Akoko Yewande, Akoko means "noisemaker" and she makes the funniest sounds since she was a baby, and Yewande means "the mother has returned" which was meaningful for me as her mother Katie had been missing for two weeks while pregnant with that litter (it was awful but we got her back).

I remember when I first started showing Savannahs that one of the breeders was telling the judge how the Savannah's hind legs should sit higher than the front legs...and the judge laughed and said show me a cat that doesn't...all cats should have longer back legs. So it's not a breed trait...much as I have seen it on some websites.

Bottom line is, he might be Savannah although unlikely to be early generation. If you looked at a lot of websites you might indeed see a kitten that looks similar. But I suspect more likely he is a mix with Bengal in there somewhere or domestic shorthair. You can decide. What is important is that he has come into your life at the right time, and he is an amazing companion :)

Just a thought but things that help with rough times are pretty special whatever they are ..how about a name that relates to helping ..like Chance or Serenity or Helper or Rescue..
