Territorial Pooping?

What really scares me is that one of his potential fathers (there were 2 sires to the litter) is a huge f5 that they must keep outdoors in a gated cat run, because he is just one of those savannahs that refuses to use litter boxes.. every time I visited he had huuuge piles of poo all over the ground. I really hope this is not a habit that Keljin will pick up and stick with :(

Any ways no new updates for today. I removed the cover, and added a second box downstairs near the doorway. If he starts using it, I will eventually migrate the second box away from the door. He has not pooped yet in the last 24 hrs, so hopefully while I am at work today we will see if any magic happens. This morning he still did pee in his original box upstairs.

Sigh.. new update. He pooped for the third time this week in the front doorway again. It is happening in the exact same corner again. Maybe I need to try a new enzymatic cleaner? I don't know why he keeps selecting that same spot.

I did put a second litter box downstairs, and it is literally 2 feet away from the corner he keeps pooping in. I showed him where it was, and I even saw new fresh paw prints in it this morning. My problem is I cannot put the litterbox in the exact corner, because I cannot open or close the door with the box in the way.. I can't think of a creative way to scoot the box into that corner especially when I am leaving the house? Maybe I need a string under the door to pull it closer.. lol I have no idea what else to do or the reason why behind it!!! GRRR

I would block his access to that area so he does not continue to form a habit of pooping in the same spot.

I agree! When I want my cats to stay away from something I make a spray with a few drops of ghost pepper sauce in water, shake it up and spray the area. Works every time. They won't even get near it.

I am interested in the ghost pepper sauce too, is it something you buy or something that you make?

I am going to put tinfoil and baskets and stuff on the floor too and block it further. I just remembered that tinfoil on the bed is what cured him as a baby from his bed accidents. Hopefully this will do the trick tonight, otherwise ghost pepper sauce is the next thing to try!

Ghost peppers are one of the hottest peppers there are. You can buy the small bottles of hot sauce at specialty grocery stores or online. You only need about 5 drops to a quart of water. Hold your breath when you spray it, and you do NOT want to get it in your eyes.
