The new cat nook project

Did you find your Savannah yet, Jason?

I have been looking at one for a while now but I'll be moving twice in the next 5ish months so I'm still holding back on getting him. I'm going to contact the breeder in the next few days and talk to them about it. I will be making something like this awesome nook though when I do get a SV! It sounds like you're having a rough time right now with all the sicknesses, but I'm sure it'll all pass :).

Ooooooh, I have a small sun room off the kitchen that would be perfect for a cat nook. I'm going to steal some of Mr. CCs ideas. Unfortunately, I'll have to hire someone to do the work. Neither I nor DH are capable of handling tools without doing ourselves bodily harm.

Jason, very sensible to delay your kitten until your life is more settled... the right kitten will be there when you are ready for it, I strongly feel there is an element of fate about such things :)

That is AWESOME! I wish I could find one that big for Razi. He needs to work out! I'm thinking of a small treadmill...

Well lets see what i can do with this, looks like it should work.It will be cut out so cats can enter either side. View attachment 6993

If you cut out entry holes on both sides, could there be a chance another cat might try to enter when one is already on the wheel? I'd worry about one getting hurt that way...but I'm a worrywart. Perhaps some decorative holes on the solid side to lighten the weight but not large enough for a cat to enter or exit?

I can't wait to see your finished wheel :)

Well, CC didn't like the border around the slat wall, so he picked up another. It will allow for more spacing between shelves, and allow the cat wheel to be located in the center of the wall. Of course, I'm sure things will be switched around several times between now and the completion. Oh, well, it keeps CC occupied! He's always happiest when he's creating something.
