That is definitely a Savannah, and most likely F1, possibly an F2. Bless you for rescuing her and giving her a safe haven!! I agree with the others, she needs to be checked for a microchip as soon as you can manage to get her to a vet.

Rhonda those are Professional Savannah Owners/ Breeders telling you what you Love 2 brought into your home... please read in the forums about the different behaviors in these special cats, the people to ask the most urgent of your questions are right here in your answers (myself NOT included)! Don't feel any question is silly, my Eddie was acting out & driving us all insane until I asked "Why" on this forum, this crowd is great & if you get an answer on the Microchip question please do let us know how far she traveled. Your pictures show a very healthy looking Savannah, has she gained much weight since you brought her in & if you'll put up with my questions:coffee:... what are you feeding her?

To reiterate what everyone has said concerning Rhonda's very good deed and taking in this kitty from a stint outdoors with feral cats...thank you!....the honest and ethical next step as a cat lover is for her to have the cat checked for a microchip very soon, and to follow up contacting the owner if one is found, or the vet's office might do that, too. The chances are very good there is an owner missing this cat dearly and mourning his/her loss. It's also quite possible the owner has only done a perfunctory search door to door, not placed any ads, and is hoping their kitty comes home on their own soon. It's also very true Savannahs have been known to travel far distances from their homes after escaping due to their curious natures...many have been found months or years later far from their original homes.

If no microchip is present...Rhonda should place ads everywhere, including flyers at pet stores, vet offices, going door to door, etc; online ads on Craigslist, Tabbytracker.com, the local newspapers and Lost and Found FB pages in her area...with the cat's pics and timeline of when she was first spotted and the location. This would be the right thing to do for any person who has found an obvious pet. Any respondents to her ads should be vetted thoroughly with proof this is indeed their missing Savannah. Pics of the cat as a kitten or in their home could work to prove ownership, as well as registration papers or input from the breeder the cat is from.
