Toy question....

I always say "YET" when talking about what my cats don't do... you just never know what they will decide to do in the next hour even, when it finally occurs to them to try the curtains. LOL!

Need to know what toys have survived the test of time and rigorous SV play? Kitten needs new stimuli. Bought a couple of new toys at local pet store and took them back. For the price they were junk and didn't preform as promised. One was the mouse that only shows part of him under a round fabric. For $38 it was clearly not worth it. So I hope to receive response with suggestions of some true winners! Thanks

www.metpet.com makes some sturdy wand toys. The bird on a wire one can take some punishment. The fishing lure ones are pretty good, they come with instructions on how to retie the cord if it snaps but for that kind of toy I like the Go Cat Cat Catcher as it has the wire cord and then a clip so you can replace the mouse lures on the end. You can buy those via a fishing supply store and cut the hooks off and they are much cheaper for replacements.

Anything with feathers is going to be destroyed on a regular basis, so best to look for ones that have replaceable ends... and just accept you will need many replacements!

For automated toys, most don't work great or don't last. We had a good run with the Frolicat Flik one, as it took being dragged around by the cord and kept working. But one day I found it with the cord chewed off :-(
