Training to pee outside?

I trained both of my trouble makers to use a doggie door into their enclosure. The litter box is in the enclosure, and I have none inside the house. As a kitten, they had 4 litter box inside the house. I slowly took one away every month, making sure the last litter box was the one closest to the doggie door. After 4 months, they have religiously used the litter in the enclosure. I would recommend doing this only when your kitty is fully litter trained.

That is an excellent idea, so thanks for sharing...

Yeah, no, it isn't going to work. I had an inside/outside cat that we "thought" would hold it and go outside. What we actually discovered is that the cat was going in the house plant! OOps. He is too little to do that. Cats that do go outside spend 90% of their lives outside.

You would probably have an easier time training your cat to use to toilet than going outside like a dog. a lot of people have success with the litter quitter thing.

Mine go in the backyard when I let them run around out there. They love to go on the gopher mounds. Unfortunately it doesn't dissuade the gophers from digging.
