I'm so happy to hear of the improvement! What therapies have you been using with her?

She even now is next to me in the bedroom playing with a toy,,, It's our new alarm clock... If I ever make a sudden movement it's back to the closet but for a short moment.. Not sure what I should be looking for exactly to know when quarantine has done its job... We're thinking aim for a month... And we think we should def separate them for feeding maybe indefinitely. Kindof a pain, but we'll figure it out...


Trying to find out if turmeric is ok for savannahs.... everything says it's great for cats and dogs.


The boy has been getting worse and worse. My wife thinks he was putting emotional stuff on her. He gets more and more whiney everyday. It's obvious he misses her. I slept in the living room with him up until a couple nights ago, as per a disagreement with the couch. I think he and I are on the same team there, as it eats all his toys....

Does she like playing with feather wands. If so, when you're playing, casually touch the wand portion to her back to get her used to that type of touch. Also, when you're sitting on the floor and she's playing, put some of her food on the back or palm of your hand and see if she'll eat it. If she does, keep doing that for a few days and then try "accidentally" touch her with a finger while she's eating. Probably under her chin would be best.

At this rate, that might be a consideration in about a week, to touch that is. I will start to brush the toy on her back more,,, sometimes it just happens, or it smacks her in the face... The leaving treats on the ground I think helped get her comfortable down with us a lot - before it was only at night when we were asleep, now it is whenever...

I am now on the floor under her at the top shelf eating, so def making progress

He IS reacting to the separation....you took away the 1 thing your Savannah BOY could push around! It's worth it in the long run...look at you sitting next to a pretty princess that was running scared! It's true your little girl may never be a lap cat but you have the boy doing that, quarantine is for YOUR BONDING at this point & it's working... now stop babying him you have nothing to be "guilty" about, he's getting a healthier playmate out of this VERY SHORT time in his life! Keep up the great work!

Rafiki and Jammu and 2 months apart in age. When we brought Rafiki home, we quarantined her in the master bedroom. We took turns sleeping with Jammu in the den so that he would not get too jealous. Jammu wanted to get into the bedroom in the worst way but when he finally did, he was just so happy to have another kitten to play with and there was zero jealousy towards his new sister. Your boy will get over it as long as he gets plenty of one-on-one time with his parents during this time.

Randomly she starting crying today,,, long pauses in between the sad sounding meows... I gave her a treat, she hissed, and it stopped... Can't find anything in my research.

Hissing is normal Savannah communication - it is not meant as a threat so please don't be intimidated by it. Ears flat back on the head is the only serious warning that a cat may be considering causing bodily harm if you don't retreat.

Seems fine. She didn't eat today though.. Crying again... Could it be the collar?
