Alternate sleeping in your bedroom and living room if the other cat seems lonely. The closet door is open yes? So she can come and go as she pleases and investigate you when you are asleep. If the other cat is OK at night, no need to sleep on the couch. Give the girl 2 weeks in quarantine and see if there's improvement. If she stays exactly the same or she becomes more scared, I would try the Prozac based on all you've described. But it's up to you in the end to determine whether you have the time and energy for what may be a long transition for her. I think that once you begin to establish a bit of trust between you, you'll know in your gut whether Prozac is appropriate.

You are so on point in the feeling and vibe of your responses. The response, helps me better contemplate, and understand better as I weigh words, where personality and vibe are lost in translation. Thanks for the time, as it helps answer to that issue. I am trying to find if anyone has experience with St John's Wort, or other natural remedies for stress. anti depression. Early on it was clear she missed her mother, who apparently she never much left the side of....

My wife is now in the closet with her and I in the living room with the boy...

I feel bad about scaring in her into the closet. Felt rushed, and realised if I just would have waited she would have found herself there anyways. I am heavily checking myself right now, my emotions, and general sense of being. Simply because I am generally extreme about everything, and see it's value, it is not appropriate with her at all, and i think you are all right about how receptive they really are. I am learning. This is not just our home anymore, it is OUR home, and am trying to put them both first as much as possible. I did not quite realize these truths till now, and am grateful for them. Life is a crazy thing.

I think exercise has been underrated by me. I try; at least an hour a day. Some have slipped. especially after the vet when healing, and the difference was huge. We try to play with her a lot, but it has taken a lot of energy just to get swipes, let alone her out of the tree.... Between rehoming, then the vet, and my general, and understandable, yet destructive forceful and stressful vibe, I think that has effected her a lot. Mind you my vibe has been quite gentle, and spending my life with horse, and Brazilian Mastiffs I am familiar with these things, just not enough as per the particular sensitivity of these beings. I think my wife will do much better in this regard, and help me re establish the bond I feel has back-tracked with her.

I notice there is a split sense of truth in the world that is expressly apparent here.

1, where we supplement with physical whether diet and exercise or pills, etc, and
2 where we address with love.

I am taking a full spectrum approach here.

1 with diet, and exercise (the eastern medicine route) and
2 with love (a Buddhist route) and
3 after truly testing the water, the western route of last resort, more invasive (maybe?) medications

Those are in order for a reason, and I will report my findings, but I have faith. We will see.

Constantly open ears here, and we are all learning. I can't imagine having children of my own. OMG

Throughout the realness I am, and trying to be for them and myself, overall there is a very centered vibe in our lives, that we were excited to share with them. Even so, I am really coming to see the depth of what people mean by about being owned by a savannah. They really feel you, and the reality of that goes deep.

Unfortunately i think she was rushed into the vet before getting a grip on things, main while being dominated by him, and our learning curve didn't help, but she is strong, and It seems just patience, and love is really what should answer to this. If I don't see a response in her, I will try herbal medication and then prozac for a limited time, to see If the stress and trauma can be curbed. Beyond all this and the next few weeks, it may be a longer time frame, and even more listening, and patience, and love. I am ok with that.

I once met a descendant of King Kamehameha, who told me "we have love for the demons, we are here for them with open arms, and love". I believe there is another way, than the absent minded short cuts we tend to in our own paths of growth. I don't know if this is karma or what, but if any of the rest of my life is a tell, I look forward to sharing another beautiful story with you down the road.

Thanks again for your time! <3 <3 <3

I don't know about St Johns Wort for cats, but NutriCalm has been successful for other cats.

St John's Wort can be used in cats, and many holistic vets use it as an alternative to Prozac. If you can get a tincture, your dose would be 6 drops/10 lbs of body weight internally 2x daily. SJW does create photosensitivity so if you go this route don't keep her in the sun too long. If you do decide to do drugs, then take her off SJW as it has interactions with conventional drugs.

I've also used Lemon Balm successfully to take the edge off, but it is a mild herb and it sounds like your cat would need more than that. I've combined it with Passionflower and Oat straw and it works really nicely. I just add this to the food when needed. The dose of this is generally about 1/3 of a tsp, but these herbs are safe to use.

You could also try an energy medicine like Bach's Rescue Remedy, or if you are into more eastern approaches you could try Reiki to help calm her energy down.

If you are into alternative therapies, it might be worthwhile for you to find a more natural vet who is open to various natural therapies.

Hang in there. When we brought our Jarvis home, I couldn't touch him, and he was terrified of me. I felt like a total failure.I was also an animal person who had never had kitties before.
Fast forward, he turned 4 in February, and he woke me up last night because I wasn't not snuggling with him enough, and he wanted to be held. It turned out I was doing a lot of things wrong, without realizing it.
Give it time. You never know what you might get back in return. Jarvis now comes and asks for pets, chin rubs, belly rubs, and snuggles.

It took me almost 5 months before I asked for help here. And another several to start turning things around, and more to really gain his trust. But if you are willing to be patient, and accept the kitten's timeline, there is hope.

Is my Jarvis a "normal" cat? Goodness no. He is a spaz. But he is MY spaz.

You can also get a Feliway collar - sometimes having it literally in the face has better results than the spray or diffusers.

I agree...and rather than use it as a collar as there have been several reports of it being used that way and cats choking or near-strangling on it since the collar won't break nor stretch...I'd place the entire collar, unlatched, in your girls' bed. I've had great results with the collar in the past, but now will only attempt using it in the cat's environment, and not as a collar around the neck....

This is the calming collar I used: Again, I would not put this around your cat's neck, but would place it in her bed.
