You can also get a Feliway collar - sometimes having it literally in the face has better results than the spray or diffusers.
Getting a collar on her feels like non option unfortunately. We are putting L-Thenine, Themine, and chopping up - A calming treat which I will provide ingredients soon.. going to pick up Bach's calming drops today, as well as st, john's wort, passion flower, and straw oats as referred. She seems better, but still very scared. She did come down to the floor level last night, after she played with me for a little. She was very timid in her playing but every time she does I give her a treat, and for 24 hours, it feels like good progress..

There is no sun light in the closet, so I want to let her out soon, but last night was the second night so I figure 5 more max, and then continue with the door open to the bedroom and see how that goes.

I agree...and rather than use it as a collar as there have been several reports of it being used that way and cats choking or near-strangling on it since the collar won't break nor stretch...I'd place the entire collar, unlatched, in your girls' bed. I've had great results with the collar in the past, but now will only attempt using it in the cat's environment, and not as a collar around the neck....

This is the calming collar I used: Again, I would not put this around your cat's neck, but would place it in her bed.

Ah... Ok - sounds good. Thank you!

Agreed, I would not want to actually put the collar on her, but as Pam explained put it in her bed or wherever she hangs out the most.

Should I bring the boy in for play time? or would that confuse things?

She is still very scared. Seems to be getting better but it is very slow - only been two days I know... Picking up the collar tomorrow..

I am going to start leaving the door open so she can come in the bedroom.. Should I only do that sometimes?

I would keep the boy away for at least 2 weeks to give her the chance to bond with you. As long as she is not peeing inappropriately, I would keep the door open just a bit. You want her to have a safe place (closet) but you also want her to build confidence and start coming to you.

Please keep her separate from the boy for at least the next couple of weeks - in fact I would keep them separate until you have established a definite bond with her.

I know it seems like forever but she has actually been very little time yet to adjust. Please be patient (I know you are) and give her time to learn to trust you. This may be a gradual thing over weeks or months, or she may suddenly become your best friend overnight. Every kitty is different, you will just have to wait and see how it plays out with her.

This is also something you should play by ear. If she is simply coming out into the closet and hiding under the bed (or somewhere else) for hours at a time she is not yet ready to have the door open. When she starts coming out and exploring, or laying/napping on the bed, then you can leave her out for longer periods of time/indefinitely.

Got it.. Thank you! I am supposed take the food away after 10 minutes? She is really scared to come out and eat if I am there, I don't want to starve her....

Not sure what you mean about coming out to eat? You should be feeding her in the closet, you don't need to stay if she's too afraid to come out and eat while you're there (for now), and you should leave the food down for at least an hour before you take it away.

She won't come out of the box I made her to eat 1 ft away where I place her food - not if I am present - she'll wait till i am gone though... if I am really patient and sit down on the floor whereas she is 7 ft up on a shelf then eventually she does - I have spent most of the last few days in there with her... just to be present - sometimes have gotten her to play for an hour or so,,, but every day we start over... :(

It may seem that you are starting over each day, but in reality if you do this day after day, staying patient and not pushing her, you will see results. She will sit there each night and process the day and eventually she will realize nothing bad happens when you are there. As Patti says, each kitten is different...some will be like the lightbulb came on and others come to it gradually.. it's hard to be patient but it pays off!
