Trying Cat genie litter box

I think she may be a little "off" though because literally EVERY time I scoop her box, she jumps in it and decides she needs to pee or poop real quick so I can take that clump out too. I mean it, EVERY time! Like it's almost funny now.

I don't think that "off", it's a very common cat trait... I guess it is like a human preferring a sparkling clean bathroom? The moment I change litterboxes in the house they all have to use them :)

I think you have it, that a clean litterbox is essential to good kitty behavior. Yes, it may be a pain to have to scoop twice a day but it does become a habit. I keep the Litter Locker things beside each litterbox location in my house so that I can easily scoop anytime I walk by. http://www.amazon.com/Litter-Locker-Hygenic-Soiled-Disposal/dp/B004EEN5BE

hehe, my boys do this too. It's almost like it becomes interesting because I'm touching it, or maybe they want to be first in the clean box, who knows ;)

Just plain silliness:) She jumps in and looks me right in the eyes like "Whaaaaat? I'm peeing Mom!"

All of my kittens do this....as soon as I clean all the boxes, they think it's a free for all and jump in - again ;) I have six boxes I clean 4-5 times a day and it is a royal pain to just get finished and have them hop in...but...they are kittens and playful after all, so I just roll with the flow ;)

So I'm determined the food was the reason for the diarrhea. We are currently on a vet recommended food and it is getting better. In regards to the litter box. She does the same thing and will go as soon as I clean it. She has used the Cat genie 2x's so far that I've seen. I currently have it unplugged and plug in when I want to clean it. I haven't figured out how to set it and not have it go off every time she is investigating. I didnt' want to scare her. I just ordered 2 different kinds of cleaner. Icky poo and a vet recommended one. I'm willing to try anything. She only likes to pee on the rug in the morning and at supper when I'm getting her food ready. It's almost like she is so excited she can't hold it. I know she is playing me though. Thanks for all the help. I'm hoping to get the peeing figured out and get her using the catgenie more.

I think the Litter Robot was the general answer for a decent SV proof automatic litterbox when this was discussed eons before... The other ones tend to have a lot of issues.

Hi Nicolette, First, I love your name! it's my daughters name :)!!! I had the cat genie and had to return it, due to my one cat HATING IT! he would go next to it LOL! once i put back original litters he went in them. Its a great idea for us humans, but not the cats.....

I was thinking of trying the CatGenie for my lot. The tuxedo package.

Hey, you can try it out and send it back for a full refund if I hate it/they hate it/they refuse to use it.

You can use the litter robot for 90 days and return if not satisfied...I think I am going to give it a try...now that I have kittens and cats, I scoop many times per day...this may save a little scooping...
