The ceiling fan is over my bed, which I could almost use a set of those little steps to get into, so they do have an advantage. My girl Smooch is F2 and my boy Leo is F3. From what I understand, savannahs of all generations have a high curiosity/determination/intelligence level. Leo gets into a lot more things than Smooch, so individual personality also plays a part.
I read here about stepping on the toilet paper before putting it on the roller. This kept them from getting the whole roll and only shredding a few sheets. I finally duct taped a can of ssscat next to the toilet paper facing sideways so that I could turn it off when needed. It probably scared my daughter more than the kittens but eventually they got the idea and I was able to take it down. I still have to remind them now and again but for the most part they leave it alone.
Both of mine had a few antsy days after surgery but both went back to themselves quickly.
