Hey sorry about the late reply everyone! Yes so much better thank you. He is having normal stools again, and eating like normal! I spoke to the vet yesterday about the results, and everything came back normal, not salmonella, worms, parasites...I am so happy he is better, bit still no idea what it could be, especially seeing as if it was a virus my other cat would have got it too? I could only imagine he eat something he shouldn't have when we weren't looking.. I will have to keep a close eye on him!

I am sorry to hear your baby is poorly Akila. I suppose if she teething she may be chewing on something she shouldn't? You can get some teething toys which are meant for puppies that may help. We managed to find a cat one at pets at home that smells like cat mint that they both love to chew on. How is she doing now, any better?

Oops!!
Akila is still having loose stools on and off. I have been trying to change her food ( slowly ), so I am not sure what is causing it. Except maybe the fact that she licks everything!!!! She is not dehydrated and the vet just says give her the Metronidazole until she has a firm stool. Can teething cause diarrhea?

I don't think teething would cause loose stools. It likely is the food... Can you try some cooked chicken for a couple of days? And keep her on the metronidazole...

Thanks for the insight. Akila is doing much, much better, her poop is back to normal.
She is a licker, so she may have licked something. I was trying to change her food also, so that could have contributed. I will just have to add new foods even more slowly.

Do you know what kind of mint is in it? Most mint is toxic to cats (catnip being an exception).

It doesn't say on the website, but Pets at Home is the biggest pet store in the UK so I would imagine they would only sell cat safe products. Next time I am there (possible today) I will ask them

I think the best thing to create a healthy gut, is raw fermented goat milk. In about a week you will start to see a big improvement. Almost 90 percent of a cat or dogs immune system comes from a healthy gut with the proper bacteria.
