What brand grinder do you use?

Slightly off-topic but my little girl is currently on a canned food diet from the breeder which I am wanting to change to raw... Did you guys just buy the grinder and assumed your cat would like it or did you test it out by buying some pre-made frozen raw food?

Nylah has a crazy appetite so I am pretty sure she is going to love whatever I put in front of her and since the transition to a new food is a slow process I'm confident I will be okay, but I would just hate to buy a nice grinder and then have her hate raw food somehow and be stuck w/ it.

Thoughts/Experiences please...?

When we had brought our first Savannah home he was on a raw diet and the breeder had given us implicit instructions on transitioning him to canned food. That didn't work out so well with some intestinal issues and we quickly transitioned back to raw.

Going the other way I would simply mixing in 25% raw with their canned food for a week, then increasing by 25% per week until you have them transitioned over. A younger kitten will take to it pretty quickly and our older cats took a little longer. Today they all turn their nose at canned food, and I have to be more diligent about not running out of raw.

i went to a pet store that carried raw and bought a couple containers first before investing in a grinder. i mixed it in with the canned food they were eating and transitioned them to all raw. the switch only took me a day or two. its easiest when there kittens. my sisters cat would refuse to eat raw. if a tiny bit was mixed into any food he wouldn't touch it. but he was older and was on canned / dry for years. she tried for a couple months and gave up.

def make sure she will eat raw before investing the money into it. The grinder is expensive but it pays for itself in the long run.

Just finished 10 lbs of bone in thighs with the Lem's #8 I just bought. It ran Like a champ. Adder livers, hearts, and all the supplements. He devoured the first bowl. I am mixing with Instinct kibble for now. He won't eat much of the kibble alone, but no hesitation when mixed with the raw mix.
