What do you know about Select Exotics

While we didn't get our boy from SE directly we definitely have relatives here. :) Lets see Commando, Fuschia, Fuzion, and Luminous are our boys grandparents. So it's always nice to see relatives growing up even if they are extended family. :big grin:

This link brings up a good point. Anyone see the same in an F2? Makoi is not affected by the scruff hold. We do this for Makiya when cutting and she instantly calms and we let go. Makoi goes insane if you try to be the boss of his body especially the scruff. Now, he is definitely the most mild tempered BUT if you manipulate him he goes insane. Never mean but throws his body violently until you release. He had to have light anesthesia to do a blood draw because three men couldn't hold him down. But with that said, I am not giving up so we will try and try and try until we win.

Makoi's parents are: Gage & Rizzo ... anyone have any connections to them?

Our new baby's parents are: Thor & Jenane

I got my F3 male savannah back in 2004 from Select Exotics and planning on getting a F1 or F2 later on, but with the increase in price on all their cats, I feel the F1's are way over priced so I've found more reasonable prices some where else! When I went to go pick him up I noticed the end of his tail was bent and they never told me that and they also said I wouldn't have no problem showing him in a show but I found out later that it would be a disqualification with the tail bent at the end. He is pictured in the avatar there and he is a very sweet kitty and I love him!:) He's the size of a F1 too...very tall and almost 23lbs. I hope I can find him a big brother soon!

Too funny. Both of our babies are siblings to both of yours (our F2 & F3)

Diane - Makiya has a bent tail about 2 inches from the tip it curls upward. You can manipulate it straight and she sometimes holds it straight but usually its curled up into a "U" shape ... weird.

One of my first Savannahs I bought, her mom came from select exotics. I did buy her for breeding but after I got her realized she has a kink in her tail. She was spayed and pet out. It is a genetic abnormality and I didn't want that to start out with.

So it seems common in the SE line maybe if many of us got one. Now I am nervous about our little guy who is coming Friday. Of course with Makiya it's no worry but we did spend so much on our new F1 that I would want him to be void of this. I should probably email and ask huh?!
