I feed Pure-Vita to one of mine with a sensitive tummy, and he does very well on it.

Glad to hear your new kitten is fitting in right from the start!

It is actually good for dry foods to list both meat and meat meals. The reason is because ingredients are weighed as they are labeled, and meat contains a lot of water weight. After being cooked it loses all that weight and really ends up being like the 5th ingredient by true weight. Meat meals are weighed after the water is evaporated, so if a meal is the 1st ingredient, then it is the largest ingredient in quantity by weight.

DO avoid grains, corn, and wheat if you can. Although they are not bad for your cat, they really are unnecessary ingredients. They do provide some nutrition for your cat, although the same nutrition can be derived from higher quality ingredients. Many companies use grains more as a cheap filler. Also avoid by-products (unless specified what kind of by-product it is, like if it says hearts, lungs, livers, etc) and artificial preservatives like BHA and BHT.

well Matojo has been with us a week now and has been transitioned onto the Stella and Chewy food. He absolutely loves it and eats his whole portion immediately! His poops have been very scarce though perfectly formed so I have been adding just a little pumpkin to his food each meal. Cant get him to drink water at all so I feed him his food very very soupy. I have ordered a fountain so hopefully that will get him drinking. He is so sweet I am so in love :)
