What to feed my F2?

One of my rules when feeding raw is that if it doesn't smell okay such that I would cook it for myself to eat it then I won't feed it raw. One of the reasons I prefer feeding rabbit over chicken (because chicken really is much cheaper to source than rabbit) is that it doesn't seem to spoil as fast as chicken, maybe their GI tracts have less evil bacteria, I've not ever researched that.

I also (like Patti) find my kittens wean easier onto raw ground meat than any canned or kibble although subsequently they can decide they prefer kibble. I like my kittens to eat raw but also canned and kibble to give the eventual owner choices in feeding.

Hi, what kind of kibble do you feed? I was thinking of raw with kibble, since sometimes my husband will feed her and i have to work, he won't do the raw thing...thanks.

Mine were getting Taste of the Wild kibble, recently I did take it away (Zak is most displeased) because my F2 boy Bobo is in kidney failure (he has far exceeded the cardiologist's expectancy with his life but the heart meds have killed his kidneys) so I am trying to make him eat more wet food...

For many years, I fed Royal Canin Special 33...I don't so much like the corn content but the cats love it and did do really well on it.

I feed royal canin as well...mine won't eat Taste of the Wild. So Taj eats just a bit of Royal Canin as well as Proplan, Zuri eats whole prey - no kibble at all and Cisco, my DSh, well he eats only kibble and only ID...I have tried to wean him from it, but he completely stops eating. I am going to try harder and work on it this winter. Cisco does drink lots of water and is healthy right now at ( years of age, but I want him to stay that way.

Brigitte, I hope Bobo is doing ok.

Thanks, Bobo is seemingly great... he's chasing and wrestling and asking me to throw his favorite fetch toy (a feather wand). I don't think anyone meeting him would think he had a severe heart valve defect OR kidney failure! LOL!
