Ziggy and our two other cats, Oni and Jax, ate a meal separated by glass. Everyone ate well, with no protests at all!

Ziggy is being cranky with us at meal times, so I now pet him every time he's eating and things are improving.

Carolyn went into his room and got down a large National Geographic book with a picture of the Afghan girl on the cover. The picture may have frightened him as he hissed with his ears back and jumped on the coffee table and smacked her with both paws--but no claws. We'll spend more time this weekend working on their relationship.

He slept with me much of the night. He can be a real sweetie.

So encouraging to see the progress!

I have no doubt Ziggy's relationship with Carolyn will improve, too.

Great job :)

Poor Carolyn :-( I hope she can maintain a cheerful reassuring manner with Ziggy... And not be nervous with him. It's hard sometimes, but so important!

Great that the cats are eating next to the glass... Good work!

Sometimes it's so hard to figure out why a cat reacts the way it does, but I think as you continue to spend more time with Ziggy you will be able to identify those triggers and patterns that lead to his unwanted behaviors, which is the first step in being able to eliminate those behaviors or replacing them with more acceptable ones.

On the other hand, it sounds like for the most part things are progressing in a positive manner. You guys are doing a great job with Ziggy - so wonderful to see!
