Progress is being made a step at a time. He really is a beautiful and complex creature. While Oni will probably always be my favorite, Ziggy is rapidly working his way into my heart. (Don't tell Ziggy!)

We had a quick visit on leash and harness outside to the porch yesterday. He did very well--so many things to watch and hear and smell!

He is no small potato. He is a nice sized, and so nicely spotted. And I can tell you don't like him a bit. ;)

I am thrilled to see the relaxed, happy expression on his little kitty face! So glad he found you and you found him.

Today was a great day. Lots of progress.

I borrowed a small dog crate from my son and it's in between Ziggy's glass room and the library. Both Oni and Jax have spent time in it and Ziggy has been real interested. Now it's set up so Oni and Jax can go in the crate whenever they have access to the library, which is most of the time when Ziggy doesn't.

Ziggy took his fourth tour of the back yard on leash, and was the most responsive so far to my insistence that we don't go some places.

We have a swimming pool that, after the kids left, we turned into a pond, with plants and 5 Koi and 160 or so goldfish. Ziggy has been suspicious of it all other times out. This time:

Notice his left paw is on the water. You can see the goldfish as an orange glow in the water. Ziggy batted at them a couple of times. It took months of watching for Oni to try fishing.

Oni was out on leash at the same time. First time we tried this. Several times they touched noses and then hissed--usually Oni hissing first. Here they're watching fish together:

And moments later they get a bit too close for their comfort:

After their dinner, I was led on a tour of the house by Ziggy on leash. A couple of encounters, but, for the most part the other two were busy exploring his space.

Now lights are off and they're settling down. Jax is laying at the entrance to the crate chilling out. I don't think he's hissed at Ziggy yet, even when Ziggy hissed at him.

Ziggy is ready to have full access to the house, Jax wants to play with him, and Oni is fascinated and nervous.

What a day!
