Do NOT give up on Akila! Rafiki was given 2-3 years to live when she was diagnosed with liver fibrosis and she is doing great. Bottom line, if your cat is willing to fight, you should too. From what you have described, you have a small kitten. She doesn't sound like she is particularly sick aside from the ear infection. She may prove the vet wrong.

I would NEVER give up on any of my fur babies, and I am that person that likes to prove people wrong!!!!!
The UC Davis trial is closed and from what I have read they are looking for a pharmaceutical company to manufacture the drug. That could take years! As for Facebook I am just not on it.....I don’t even know how it works LOL
I have an appointment with a Feline Integrative, nutritionists next Friday, and I will continue to look for answers to all of my questions!!

Also I reached out to Akila’s breeder. I felt she should be aware of what is going on. She is doing research also, and having Akila’s brother ( who is also small ) tested.

Hmm....Cornell is close to Pittsburgh but they are not doing a FIP trial right now. :(
Of course, I am not personally convinced that she has FIP.

I have been doing a ton of research and I am not convinced either. I just don’t know what it can be, and I don’t know where to go from here.

I will be calling the vet tomorrow, because if this number can be high from stress I am sure it is Kebi causing it and not the trips to the vet. Kebi has still not accepted Akila and does everything in her power to harass her. They are under constant supervision when I am home and separated when I am not.

Good idea! I still think Akila is just small, especially since you mentioned her brother is small, too.

Have you tried using anything to calm Kebi? Feliway makes a diffuser product for calming, and I've seen natural drops around that you add to drinking water. I've heard a drop of vanilla on the nose can help, as well.

I have the feliway diffusers and I have tried giving Kebi the Composure chews. The vet said she will give me Prozac if needed ( for Kebi ) LOL! At this point I could probably use some:giggle:. I know vanilla was mentioned before, so I will be trying that also. CBD oil was mentioned by the vet also.
