Amazing adoption kitty

We've been wanting a Savannah. I can hardly believe that when I went to the animal shelter after looking at cats on the web for the whole winter that there was one there that looks like a Savannah. What do you think? She 's with us now! Her name: Tiki!

You'd have to look real close at the kitty. Look at her proportions- are her back legs long? Long neck? Large ears? Triangle-shaped face? What about the markings on the front legs?

Without papers, there's no telling. But given the odds... and given the number of people signed up onto the Savannah rescue alert list, I would really question how/why a Savannah slipped the breeder net, and then the SVrescue net and ended up in a shelter.

Still, a beautiful kitty though! I'm sure she's glad to have a new home!

It's not impossible of course, but yes less likely... Bengals are simply more numerous. Of course the fact that Bengals were used to develop the Savannah breed means the lines can be blurred making identification difficult!

great! and yes, this is a picture of her. Thank you!! I will look at her proportions again. She has banding on her ears- the eyes! and yes, hard to believe that she went in as a stray and noone claimed her. The angle of her eyes is so different than any cat. I will take a closer look at Bengal traits

Funny you should post this, we were at PetCo picking up food & had to spend 5 hours (ok, slight exaggeration but if you have a child who is passionate about animals, you understand lol) looking at all the lizards, frogs, hamsters, mice, and cats that they have available for adoption. One kitten they had marked "tabby" but had more spots than stripes. My 5 year old got super excited and was like "WHAT!? How did a Kovu baby get in HERE?!" LOL I'm going to guess she was part Bengal and not Savannah, but I just thought it funny that we both found some spotted babies for adoption.

Thank you Ashly! It is incredible. I believe they find us no matter what it takes! I'm thrilled to delve into the spotted cat world!
