Anybody have experience with Rare Breed Exotics?

Sounds very fishy indeed. That would have set off a lot of alarms for me as well, but I understand your concern for the kittens too. But I guess we have to realize that it is impossible to save all the poor kittens from irresponsible and unethical breeders out there.

Rare Breed Exotics is fairly local to me. I have never purchased cats from him but have had a few brief conversations with him regarding the servals he keeps in California. I think he must keep a low profile because of his servals or serval. I don't even know how many or if he has servals anymore. I have only spoken to people 2nd party so as a fellow business person, I can't report anything that I know from my own experience other than substantial info from the rumor mill. If you contact Debby of Columbia Breeze in Oregon, she had a kitten buyer of hers that had an issue with false papers on a breeding cat that was purchased from Rare Breeds. She could possibly give you his contact info? The one thing I do know is that he "brokers" cats with people. Meaning that he gets people to sell his cats. From my own point of view and having an attachment with the kittens I raise, you can not possibly be anything but pure business to allow others to sell your kittens. That takes breeding completely out of the realm of "personal enjoyment" into just financial. What I also know is that he also sells and ships those kittens are as young as 5 to 6 weeks old. That also says that there can not be any concern for the vaccine status of his kittens or their over all welfare. Kittens need at least 3 sets of vaccines for the minimal coverage. TICA supports kittens to leave at around 12 weeks ideally.
