Attending your first cat show as a spectator

It was fun! I saw many different breeds and was able to talk to some of the owners about them. Many of the cats including the Savannahs that were there were huge! When I came home (of course with a sackful of new toys ;)) I looked at my sweet petite 5 1/2 lb 5 month old Matojo and dubbed him mini-cat! I will definetly attend more shows! Watching the judging was interesting but I couldn't hear all the comments and didn't really understand what was happening.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the show....are you hooked yet? ;)

Your comment about not really understanding what was going on makes me think I'll have to do a thread on that......stay tuned!

You can email the entry clerks and ask if there are any Bengals or Savannahs entered. If you're not sure how to do that, here's how. First go to: http://ticamembers.org/calendar/ and find a show you're interested in. Click on it and that will take you to an information page. The entry clerk's email addy should be on this page, but if it's not then click on the link to the flyer and it will be there.

I'm so excited to be going to the TICA show in Wheaton Illinois..:) I've been to shows in town here but they are smaller ones and they didn't allow savannah cats at these...It was called the Rock Valley Cat Club. They did have Bengals tho. Looking forward to seeing Savannah cats at this one May 4th.

I'm quite sure there will be a couple of Savannah folk at the Wheaton show - ask for where the Savannahs are benched and look for Donna (Summerwood Savannahs) and Carol (C&C Savannahs).

Oh I just missed that show. I like to go to the All Animal Expo in Wheaton once in awhile. Is anyone going to the Waukesha WI show?

I'm not planning on going to the Waukesha show but the one that comes to Illinois every year I usually go to! Most of the TICA shows are to far to drive to! The Wheaton show wasn't too far tho.
