Jeni, I finally found you!! Thanks so much for all your kind words, they really mean so much to me! Like I told you, I really hated to see her go but I know that she went to a fantastic home
Deborah, my vet asked me if she would grow into her ears and I said ."I sure hope not!" lol

Ah the ears! Let me just say that each ear, by itself, is the size of her tiny precious little face. Love dem ears!!! My sister is the only one I adore enough to let come over for a peek and that was her first comment - "My what ears you have!"

She just took a "cat nap", pun intended, on my chest. And let me just tell you all that I think I am in Heaven!!! Looking down on her little head all you could see were...ears....eyes closed...and then the tan little fur on top of her little black nose. She was just snoozing away.

And Patty, when you said "love bug", you nailed it right on the head! Gosh she's such a sweetheart! I'm serious as a heart attack - it's all you!!!

She's playing on her hide-a-toy thing now. Man this is great!

ROFL Jeni, welcome to the world of the Savannah Addict. You got it really bad. This morning as I was vacuuming up a roll of toilet paper and a fresh roll of paper towels, picking up the bar stools that were knocked over during the morning zoomies, and wondering what the headline of the newspaper was because someone kindly shredded the front page, Maliik threw up his breakfast, a rat, which didn't smell all that great, and all I could think was how lucky I am to share my life with these cats.

Hahaha! The sad thing is I think that's just AWESOME With three kids, two miniature schnauzers and a husband...if Aniyah acts like that, she'll fit into our family just perfectly! I gave up having a pristine house, or heck, a civil house for that matter, November 2009 - when Sophie was born. I decided "Well, enjoy it while it lasts and milk it for all its worth because it won't last forever"

Yes, I definitely have the Savannah addiction in a really bad way. I have to work tomorrow and Friday and just wanna cry like a baby because I prefer to sit on my bedroom floor just to catch the next new thing she does!

People have started calling me Cat Lady and I'm starting to think maybe they know something I don't know?!

Jeni, if it helps any, I was known as 'the cat guy' when I only had two felines. That was one of my motivating factors in saying "nobody is going to care if I get another".

Yeah they think they are soooo funny when they meow at me. Dorks And they name, that's MY fault for having a goofy spelling, lol

I've already warned my husband. She's got him wrapped around the tiniest claw she has. He's head over heels in love with that little girl...I told my breeder to just watch, he's going to want another one before we know it!

And to think, he's always been a "dog" person

Today is day 7 for Aniyah to be home and in her "Quarantine" room / aka the master bedroom. She has gone from being the kitty that hides at the sound of a pin drop to climbing all over us all to greet us, tells us loooooong elaborate stories in her native tongue, plays with anything and everything in sight (toes included),escapes into the living room only to come to a screeching halt when she realizes she has no clue where she is, curls up in bed between us in bed at night and purrs like a motor boat...All this being said...Do I enforce the TWO WEEK quarantine period or is it time for the next step? I don't want her to regress but at the same time, she's attempting to expand her territory EVERY time I open the door to my room!

Next question, we have two miniature schnauzers - when the time DOES come to take the next step. Both have literally been raised from day 1 with a cat in our house. This particular cat, Precious, went on to be with her Maker a couple of months ago Due to always having had a cat, I don't think Aniyah's smell (new kitty) really strikes them as being that odd. They are used to cats but it's been a couple of months since they've been around one. Our previous feline friend, was NOT friendly to the dogs. She hissed and ran and it was almost a game to the dogs to "torment" her. No one was ever injured, bit, or sctached - it was just a bullying teasing type game for them. In addition, one of our dogs has been sleeping in his crate, on the opposite side of the master bedroom, every night since Aniyah came home. I'm sure they have "met each other" but ???? Point is, does her new found confidence indicate she's ready for the next step? Wait two weeks?

If you didn't have any other pets, I'd agree to letting her out to learn hear way around the house. My vote is to wait the 2 weeks to give time for more bonding between her and the two of you and to let her confidence build. Then introduce her to the house without the dogs as a distraction and let her become confident getting around the larger space. Then introduce the dogs. Please don't let them chase her or make a game of tormenting her like they did the other cat. It's unfair to and unhealthy for the cat.

You might try letting her and the dog who sleeps in the bedroom meet in the bedroom and see how it goes -- supervised intro & play time for the next week. At least that way, she is familiar with one of them and you can teach that particular dog appropriate behavior with the kitten.
