Bonnie Illies - anyone familiar with her?

What does Nimbus normally eat? Up until June, Rafiki only ate ground raw. The bland cooked diet does not appeal to her but it may be too early to try to switch her back to raw again. Do you suggest adding the raw shrimp to cooked chicken?

Yes, that would work. Nimbus eats ground raw chicken with chunks of pork or beef (whatever's on sale) and hearts and gizzards. I also add a tablespoon of some kind of premium wet food like Earthborn. And for dinner he gets slivered green leaf lettuce or grass for fiber. I think the sooner she gets back on raw, the better.

I do have experience with this person, and I absolutely DO NOT recommend her one second.

I do not believe she has any abilities whatsoever AND much more dangerously, she will try to con you into spending cash for extra healing sessions (by email etc "if you really love your pet...").

It is also extremely dangerous to recommend to people that they stop seeing vets or giving medication. This is in fact illegal in some countries in Europe (not sure about the US, will definitely take you to jail in the Netherlands).

During the 1 session with this person, she said my cat had (surprise surprise) liver issues! She essentially said nothing else, and proceeded to trying to get me to spend more money right away. She then emailed me "your poor cat, why won't you let me help her?" She displayed an obvious ignorance for biology/the body, didn't even get the name of my cat right, and showed no interest in healing/ well being. Point being: she has a cat she won't treat because no one is paying her to do it. Makes me wonder.

Anyways, from experience with other healers, this lady is a complete fraud.

I question the abilities of people like Brent Atwater also, but she is, on the other hand, an actually lovely person with a keen willingness to help and a genuine love for animals. Bonnie Illies is a dangerous con artist.

Thanks for your comments Alex.

I was extremely disillusioned after the last session. First of all, she continued to focus on the liver. While her previous issues were all liver related, that particular incident was caused by a bacterial infection in her ear. And yes, she kept saying that I needed to get Rafiki off all the meds. She was also rude about asking for payment. On the previous healing, I had had to remind her to bill me and on this one, she sent me this message "Also, would you please do the paypal payment??? It's less time/energy for me if I do not have to follow up on bkkp. stuff.". She sent the bill on 11/3 at 4:11 pm, performed the healing at 11 pm and that message was sent at 5:26 am on 11/4. At that point, it seemed a lot more about the $ than the health and well being of my cat.

Dear Rafiki, I found your thread before calling her, I'm really glad I read about your experience. Thank you so much for posting it in such great details!

The reason I'm emphasizing that medical care/ meds should not be interrupted carelessly is because: one of my cats developed severe stomatogingivitis caused by a calicivirus. The dentiste showed me her mouth. I saw the infection, the cavities, the broken teeth, the gums so swollen she had trouble swallowing. I saw how much better she got after the surgery, how well she was, how much the meds helped her with the pain and the infection.

I really do thing "western" medicine is an extremely useful tool. It all depends on who's using it (some vets are just aweful). To discount medicine and meds in 1 go is not only silly and ignorant, it's also dangerous. I will however happily discount vets :). I find most of them terrible :).

I'll let you know if I find someone good... let me know also? Our vets need all the intuitive help they can get sometimes.... ;)

She may have helped. We will never know. I just knew that I needed to explore all avenues when it came to Rafiki. Right now, Rafiki is stable and doing well (Fibrosis of the Liver thread) so I cannot say that I regret having tried this.

She told me the exact same things she told you - word for word.

Btw my cat had toxoplasmose.

Anyways, i can tell you she's working very hard to maintain her online reputation. I Wonder how many other people have posted negative reviews in the past. We'll never know.

Glad Rafiki is doing better. Is she eating more too?

She has become quite the eating machine. She is being fed 3.5 oz of raw 2x/day plus several times per day she gets freeze dried duck hearts and duck fillets. Every 2-3 days she also gets a 1/2 a freeze dried duck neck. And if that isn't enough, she eats Jammu's food if he makes the mistake of leaving it unattended. Jammu needs to lose weight as he was eating her food while she was sick but determining the quantity is a bit challenging when she eats his as well.

Alex, Rafiki was tested for toxoplasmosis when she was first diagnosed with liver fibrosis. Apparently it can cause scarring of the liver if left untreated.
