Only from some, and those sources that are loudest are not necessarily those I believe. The Bengal breed has distanced itself from its early generations for some time and it has not changed their legislative status in any way that I've seen. The only reason they are ok in TX is because the ALC is not on Texas' DWA list, but the Serval is...nothing to do with the SBT or not issue.

It most definitely is easier to argue when trying to get a ban partially reversed.. easier to argue the purebred domestic breed angle. But we saw in Ohio that one can successfully just argue the breed as a whole and have it work.

Yes, what we did in Ohio was awesome! Unfortunately, it has not filtered down to other states...Iowa is the newest example, where only SBT's from F4 and later will be legal.

As I said, when reversing bans then it is easy to push the SBT as "purebred" domestic... it's a different fight from fighting the ban being put into place at all.

Language such as registered by a cat body such as TICA protects ALL generations not just the SBT...unless you keep telling legislators that only SBT is what we consider domestic. The danger is in saying that all the time, imho. I don't see my C-registered Baz as less domestic than my SBT Zari.

I've not found TICA to be unreceptive. I've seen letters from TICA's President defending all generations not just the SBT ones.

yes, I know...but that is not the general feeling of much of the leadership...however, I think we are all working together to protect our breed and that is all that matters.

That's correct, it is a British slang term.

As well as my Savannahs & Bengals, I have 2 moggies that are as spoilt and as loved as my SV's & BG's.

Huh? Are you saying if we have F18 SBTs, that they'll look like tabbies?

I should sure hope not- the point of creating the SBT level is to have a sustainable look. Of course, we are still improving at this point by still using new F1s and carrying lineages down, but eventually, SBT won't even really be a term used anymore. It will be more odd to label cats F1s/F2s/F3s because SBT will be the common Savannah.

Edit...True, Trish...i read that the Bengal has been bred down to F15...
