Burying food?!

We just have our little Lyra :). And she should know "Mommy and Daddy" aren't gonna touch her kitty food!! LOL

That is another question I have- what is everyone feeding their Savannahs? We had Lyra eating Wilderness Kitten by Blue Buffalo then she started vomiting everyday. We put her on just baby food for a few days to help her tummy. When we tried to get her to go back to Blue, she stuck her nose up at it- and pretty much everything else- except Whiskas wet turkey and giblets. We want her on a high protein, grain free food, but can't seem to get her to switch back. How bad is this Whiskas wet food for Lyra? Any recommendations on healthy kitty foods?

I know the Whiskas dry food is bad...most pet stores won't even carry it. I feed Zeddie raw, I tried to put my DSH on it as well but he puked up the turkey and after that he wanted nothing to do with raw at all. I think once they puke from it they don't want to eat it again because it made their stomachs upset

You have to look at the ingredients to decide how good - or bad - it is for Lyra. My rule of thumb is if there are grains in the first five ingredients listed I shy away from it.

Lol. Mine does that too. He is a grazer so his foods always out. I'll catch him doing it every once in a while. He usually does it if I put a towel under it as he spills his water often from playing in it. He also tries to cover MY food up! After I'm done eating and I set it aside on the couch he will try to cover it up. His way of saying, "you wanna save that for later?" Or "you are done so throw that away!" If only Savannah's could talk!

Have you tried feeding raw? Triton's mainstay is ground chicken, but on occasion, we give him rabbit, buffalo, and beef tips mixed in for something different. We also sprinkle shrimp on top for an occasional treat. We tried tongue, but he wasn't too fond of that.
